Movies this past week: Pan's Labyrinth and
The Good Shepherd:

You know, both these movies left me a little
disappointed. I think I didn't care about either
protagonist--Matt Damon was dreadfully stiff and
dull. The whole damn movie was dull.

As for Pan's--I didn't care whether the little girl
ate the grapes...chose door three...ran away from her
awful stepfather...or made it to the underworld
(real or imagined). Pan's mixes up a lot of stuff, and
none of it really goes well together. Pan's Labyrinth
is somewhere between Photographing Faeries and Legend
and it isn't nearly as good as either of those.
