You asked what I would do, were I president, not what I would do to get elected to the office.. ;0)

NO, no, no....Michael asked you what you would do, not me. :o)

But I do believe that ANWR should be drilled. The technology exists to minimize environmental impact (horizontal drilling), and past experience has clearly shown that endangered species actually flourish in the presence of man (we keep the predators away).

I've asked you two question of which the above doesn't answer.

Why is it that Exxon prefers to drill/pump oil in places like Iraq or Nigeria at high personnel risk when they've had a lease to develop a major oil and gas field in Alaska for some 40? years?

Follow up question, Mr. President. If there's a major oil and gas field in Alaska that has been sitting there for 40 years, why was your predecessor [and his party] so intent on developing oil fields in ANWR?

To follow with more specifics as to what I would do were I sitting in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, is exactly what Frank Gaffney has attempted to do, create a forum where anti- Islamists in America, and the world over, to present their case against militants trying to hi-jack the Muslim faith:

Take time to watch this, and go to the website mentioned at the end in order to sign the petition for PBS to release their file (paid for with American tax dollars)

hotair.com

Until we act to empower the voice of those who are against religious militancy (of whatever religion) we're giving the militants a "pass". This is something that we need to BANG THE DRUM on very seriously. When people see others arguing against militancy, they will find common cause within its logic. Non-Muslims will gain a different sense of what Muslim believers are facing, and Muslims who are on the fence, will either align themselves with the moderates, or smoke themselves out by protesting. (and that's just as effective)
