Gem, Sure but I find moderate Muslims getting shouted down more often by people like Nadine than by other Muslims ... at least in free society; and then I see them go silent with a 'what's the point?' attitude. They demand we speak out just so they can humiliate us in public ... sure that makes sense? Are you speaking rhetorically, or are you muslim? Just curious. As I've often stated, I have 2 bullets for ANY militant religious fanatic who believes they have the right to forcibly "evangelize" their faith over any one else's. And I will applaud ANY Muslim who has the guts to stand up, or even act quietly through their influence in their local mosque, to discredit the militant theology that is being spread. For that matter, I applaud ANY person in ANY faith who denounces the use of violence to propagate their particular variety of religion. Hawk

You will never hear me "shout down" anybody who might be an actual moderate Muslim, or a brave person like Wafa Sultan who defends modern values. But I will object to the Islamists-in-moderate-clothing, the phonies like CAIR who support Hamas and the flying imam suits out of one side of their mouths, while proclaiming how "moderate" they are out of the other, and whining that anybody who doesn't like their behavior is "Islamophobic". Far too often, it is Saudi-funded groups like CAIR who have appointed themselves spokesmen for American Muslims. Their protestations against terrorism are for PR only. Catch one of their spokesmen on Al Jazeera, and he will be telling quite a different tale. Islamists regard "taqqiya" as a virtue. You need to remember that so you won't get suckered. If you don't know what it means, you should look it up.
