But it's not going to happen as long as the Pakis and Indians are not willing to work together to assist Afghanistan's borders to remain secure.

India does not have a border with Afghanistan (unless one accepts that the little bit of border between Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan is a real border).

India's interests obviously relate to Kashmir, and it's a useful rallying cry with the Mujahidin in Pakistan.

Yep that aspect is a pain in the ass for India.

But also remember that the "invasion" was really a SpecOps/CIA show, which focused on uniting the various groups of warlords against the Taliban.

I fail to understand (perhaps because I was never in the defence industry), why a similar stealth, SpecOps/CIA small task force could not be deployed to Iraq to achieve the overthrow of Saddam.

on a diff note - did u know that Indian aid supplies and manpower to help rebuild infrastructure are not allowed to fly over Pakistan to reach Afghanistan. Now Afganistan is a landlocked country with no seaport, so the alternative has been fly to the Gulf and come back over Iran or similar to land in Afghanistan.
