so, if there was a nonstop flight from India to Afghanistan, your premise says its OK.

Did I say it was "OK"? I don't think so.. I was just trying to explain why Pakistan wouldn't mind having Indian airlines land at their airports.. it's about $$$$.

Having Indian influence increase in Afghanistan is about politics and the Pakis have no interest in helping India increase it's presence in their backyard..

The Pakis permit US flights to Afghanistan, via Paki airspace. Having port access and overland transport would be far more cost effective. I'm not sure that Musharraf has agreed to that yet. It was my understanding that anything coming into Afghanistan comes by air, or via land routes through countries other than Pakistan. Though I maybe mistaken in that.. (a buddy, who was in Afghanistan, told me that).
