Gem....I think the codes of the US are pretty darn clear on torture. Ours are a darn sight more clear than those of the UN.

If this were not so, Abu Grahib would not have been an issue. We imprisoned some in our military, and downgraded the top superiors for not following the rules. Snarling dogs and panties on heads were bad, BUT NOTHING in comparison to actual real torture of the way prisoners of AQ and most other terrorist groups we have seen in the the newspapers, and from pictures.

How does one compare a stoning, or a beheading, with panties on the head????

And I'm being serious, Gem. I sat next to a young man on an airplane while coming back from a trip, who has several cousins in his family in Iraq, one of whom is there for the 5th tour! They are seeing many MANY victims with drill holes through their faces and heads.....inflicted before they were killed.

While I might not approve of waterboarding, I don't believe it begins to compare with drill holes, or cut off pieces of the body, or any number of terrible things that others are inflicting on people.

I can guarantee you that others in this world are not one bit bashful in SERIOUS torture before killing their victims!
