Very well thought out and I agree with you completely.

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, this administration (or any other) has UTTERLY FAILED to "bang the drum" sufficiently to explain this to the Iraqi (or the rest of the Muslim) people.

And that's a damn shame. Because Islam, at its foundation, is a very democratic religion, lacking the traditional hierarchy we find in Catholicism and other faiths. They have not priests, bishops, or popes. All they have are scholars who each ply their individual interpretations of the Q'uran in the quest for a religious constituency.

Thus, in order to deprive the more militant and fanatical religious "shepherds" of an audience, our message must resonate in the hearts of the flocks they seek to gather (and/or eventually fleece)..

And no message resonates more powerfully, IMO, in the hearts of mankind than the belief that God would be ashamed to see men killing his fellow man in his name.

I firmly believe that promoting religious tolerance, and speaking directly to the hearts of man should be the primary focus of any IO (information operation) strategy. Because, IMO, it represents a universal truth/morality that resonates.
