I guess at some level i dont give a crap either because these folks have for the most part been duplicitous in their dealings with us since before WW2. Hard to look at a saudi prince and feel love or at a terrorist or at his opponent in the Mahdi army. Suicide bombing Palestinians are a whole other story and then there are the dudes who broke by heart and almost took my life one beautiful day in september. So does it make me a racist that sometimes i say to the warring factins in the muslim world a plague on both your houses? I dont think so, maybe just a realist about democracy and where it can successfully applied. BTW what happens when it is applied like in palestine and they elect terrorists or in weimar germany and they elect hitler.
