In iraq, al queda was united under zarquawi and his successor. Zarquawi called on his group to start civil strife by blowing up shia mosques and people. This was in a secret document that was uncovered later on. Bin Laden initially distanced himself from attacking fellow muslims but since it worked there is less disagreement these days. The civil strife is not out of the bottle and will be hard to get it back in whether there are al queda fighters in iraqs future or not. If dont think there is much dispute about the facts on this one.
