i was talking post 53 and many still died but nowhere near the number under stalin. Our army was being disbanded post WW2. There was no way to keep the army intact as draftees wanted to get home. If we had intervened at that point millions would still have died but many of those would have been american and innocent russians might have died as well as we had nukes and the will to use them. And what if stalin had a bomb before they lost the war?
And then there is china? We could have intervened on behalf of that great democrat chiang kai shek or waited until they intervened in Korea and lobbed some nukes. Hawk would have had us in perpetual war from 1945 on. Now i dont really believe he would be for that but the Hawk i am hearing todays dad or granddad might have actually been saying these things in order to make the world safe for democracy. But what do i know, he has labeled me an appeaser which as you know is very far from the truth.
