I did project the possibility of a Shi'ite Iranian super power and for a Pakistani Sunni super power or at least center of power and for them to go at each other but I can't figure a US role in it at all Same as always.. Protect the global oil supplies. However, I wouldn't forsee anything more than the relationship we had between Iraq and the US during the '80's until Iran's government shaped up enough (or was replaced) sufficiently to be taken off the list of state sponsors of terrorism. However, Iran, might definitely find it in its interests to stop meddling in Iraqi affairs and focus upon preventing a "Talibanized" Pakistan from using it's manpower resources to make a launch for the PG oil fields under cover of it's nuclear umbrella. Certainly, IMO, the Saudis have probably had this strategy in mind for some time, which explains why they were so dedicated on exporting their religious theology to Pakistan and Afghanistan during the '90s. This strategy would place Iran in a vice between the Arab world on the west, and the Talibanized Pakistanis in the East. Guess I'll have to do some research on Iranian-Indian relations. Aside from the US, that would be the only effective hedge against aggression by a radicalized Pakistan. But then again, the US would have an interest in protecting Afghanistan, so maybe Iran and the US might find themselves as "odd bedfellows".. It's interesting to think about these scenarios.. Hawk
