Question. Do A teams have people who have some training in tanks, choppers or fixed wing.

I would say seldom, but there certainly have been some. My replacement as an A team commander in 1972 is a qualified Army pilot. I would say however that it is far more common for an SF NCO or officer to go to flight school and a career as a pilot than for a qualified aviator to apply for SF.

And some former Armor (tank) officers and NCOs have completed SF training.

None of those skills are SF qualifying requirements, so the SF schoolhouse does not teach them.

Some friends of mine have been advocating teaching SF NCOs basic helicopter flying skills. So far that has not been approved.
