SPG and DDR have great dividend yields again. I have absolutely no problems with commercial real estate in the way of shopping malls and strip centers. I wouldn't touch unoccupied residential real estate in any way, shape or form. Those 2 are gold mines. My only black mark at the moment is a mortgage reit, ahm. They took a beating from alt a loans, and discontinued those loans. This sets them back another quarter or two, before the losses from alt a will not be able to bite them in the ass again. Well, ANX is a black mark too. However, I think it can triple any day. That's the essence of investment sometimes. You put the money away for a few years and hope you make a bloody fortune. Which is exactly what I am expecting from ANX.
