Well, do you think 60% of the voters will repeal it? It's constitutional amendment. When a lot of them, over 45%, will be voting themselves a tax hike? I don't.

A complete repeal of property tax would do the trick but how do you compensate for the lost revenue. A couple of proposals like a 2.5% increase in sales tax or 4 mega casinos have been bandied about. In that case it throws more of the burden on the poor and let's the rich off the hook especially with the first one.

At the very least, SOH is another example of tax manipulation gone bad, like the cap gains $500k exemption on selling a primary residence.
