The Afghan mujeheddin weren't Osama'a mujeheddin. He did give them money and supplies from SA. But then we were funneling much more through Pakistan to them.

the CIA trained many mujeheddin fighters in West Texas. Read Texas Ranger Joachim Jackson's book "One Ranger" for his description of the secret training sessions in Stinger missiles. Osama might have been one of the CIA recruits.

Once again, AFGHANS! Not Arabs. And not Osama.

Remember why Osama founded Al Qaida. It was because GHW Bush left a secret US military base behind in Saudi Arabia after the GUlf War. On their "holy land". Until then Osama was actually sort of a US ally, at least in Afghanistan.

There was no secret base in SA. The whole world knew about our bases there. And Osama objected to the US pushing Iraq out of Kuwait, which campaign was mounted from Saudi Arabia.

He did form Al Qaida shortly thereafter. He had a database of Arabs who'd journeyed on their own to fight in Afghanistan - this database or base is where Al Qaida's (the base) name comes from.

If you want to know some real info about Osama and Al Qaida, read The Looming Tower.
