Gib, understand this: Hillary voted for the war for purely pragmatic reasons as did all the other dems. Only two people voted against the vietnam war: Morris of Oregon and Gruening of Alaska. Both were defeated in the next election. This was not lost on the dems!! The conservative's in the US have had the liberals on the run for 50 years because the most peopel in the US do not like esoteric or complex social ideas like gay marriage; and becasue dems ram roded the 1964 civil rights act down the souths throat. The ENTIRE south votes as a block for conservatives. No matter who is running. LBJ predicted the dems would lose the south for 50 years becasue of that vote. The entire south, as a block, went from blue to red-----overnight! The majority of the people in the US believe the republicans demogoging nonsense painting the dems as Chamberlisk-lol and weak and STUPID on defense. Americans like tough talkers like bush and Nixon over Mcgovern and on and on. The vast Maority of Americans are against, gay marriage, gun control, athiesm or even agnosticism, global warming and even evolution. These are all very strong liberal positions and liberals lose time after time because they cannot parry them without lieing. Kerry might have won had he denouced gay marriage, but he refused to do it! Rove hammered the dems on the gay marriage subject right before the election. And the swiftboating. Ron paul is simplistic. He is agaisnt all of the social issues named above and all progressive social programs.
