"By lowering the bar of testing standards"

It seems they are doing no such thing. The concern is (at least officially) all the false negatives.

What a load of Dumbyass-crap! Nobody is saying that the test is a panacea. The concern really is about saving money for big meat business campaign donors and increasing their profits. If a small meat business does the tests, then the pressure will be on big business, to adapt those tests. But when everybody else is *prevented* from doing it, big businesses can rest easy.

....the idea behind banning the test is apparently that they will increase safety, by avoiding false negatives

So, since there is *always* the possibility that a test may fail (and thereby result in a false negative), then why not ban *all* tests?! That way we can avoid all false negatives, and "increase" safety to the maximum extent.

Sheesh! The levels to which these Dumbyassholes stoop to, is incredible. On second thoughts, I would say shouldn't at all be surprising since that is exactly what we should expect you crooks to do.
