"By lowering the bar of testing standards" It seems they are doing no such thing. The concern is (at least officially) all the false negatives. What a load of Dumbyass-crap! Nobody is saying that the test is a panacea. The concern really is about saving money for big meat business campaign donors and increasing their profits. If a small meat business does the tests, then the pressure will be on big business, to adapt those tests. But when everybody else is prevented from doing it, big businesses can rest easy.

....the idea behind banning the test is apparently that they will increase safety, by avoiding false negatives So, since there is always the possibility that a test may fail (and thereby result in a false negative), then why not ban all tests?! That way we can avoid all false negatives, and "increase" safety to the maximum extent. Sheesh! The levels to which these Dumbyassholes stoop to, is incredible. On second thoughts, I would say shouldn't at all be surprising since that is exactly what we should expect you crooks to do.
