I think many is unlikely (although the word is not exactly precisely defined), at the very least that means a majority. There is no way that most people who fly or otherwise display a confederate flag want a restoration of slavery. Its too common of practice (even if it is in decline) and there aren't that many supporters of slavery.

Edit - Did the producers, writers, or actors in this show, or most of its audience support a restoration of slavery.

I think that might be an exaggeration... on the other hand, if youd asked those people if they believe blacks should be able to vote, you might not get an answer you like.
