The trial judge originally sentenced the woman to 8-10 years, a sentence supported by the local chapter of MADD.

I've often though of joining DAMM (Drunks Against Mad Mothers)...

What isn't noted in the article is how many young people came to the party?

Was it a bash-----------100 plus or a few friends gather to celebrate quietly.

Also, I wonder why the case ended up in court---------that isn't explained.

Seems like there is a little more to this saga.

Not only is this expensive FOR WE THE TAXPAYERS, paying for that prison time, but probably will destroy that family. Things have gotten so out of control in this country as we bow and scrape to every group. I'm told that MADD tries to have at least one member at EVERY trial when the judge gives sentence. They are to GLARE at the judge and threaten to work to have him not reelected if he doesnt throw the book at anyone charged with drunk driving. Now, I am NOT backing drunk driving but seems to me somewhere it says JUSTICE IS BLIND and should be applied according to the law, not some special interests ideas. jdn
