I couldnt get over the greeting Nasser got after their debacle in Sudan. I think Dove Dayan was right about EJ and WB. Golan was another issue and had more to do with how close the soviets came to sending men. In retrospect taking EJ and WB was a mistake imho. Israel didnt have to return WB, they should have just allowed Jordan to come back in rather than attempt to control (even for their own good) hundreds of thousands of arabs. What would Hussein have done if israel just overlooked his participation in the war and just left the WB and EJ alone? Was there any feasible way for israel to liberate only the Western Wall area and not the rest of EJ?

I am not saying that israel did anything unusual given the results of the war. I am just saying that greater israel became a cancerous occupation for the jewish state that they just didnt need to do. Peace was made with jordan anyway later on but israel was stuck with the land at that point because jordan wouldnt take it back then. But they did have responsiblity for it even after 6 day war in june 67.
