its nice words but still a country that is more like the gang cant shoot straight. Something hopeful today was al sadr calling for restraint. Some good things are happening but what has to happen immediately is for the spoils of oil to be shared with sunnis and the creation of federal system with a great deal of flexibility. Al sader and shiaa militias have to pledge allegiance and with both the political stick (sadr and shiaa committment) and the eeonomic stick (spoils of oil) the sunni can concentrate on al quaeda and cease and desist attacking shiaa and americans. When all of this happens US should make a quick exit that satisfies both shiaa and sunni. This talk now of 10 more year is ludricous if you want fighting to stop. US must not become to badgad and iraq what israel is to EJ and westbank and gaza. Israel may not have a choice because they live in the neighborhood. We do and dont.
