the entire train of thought is of course erroneous, in that it is based on the assumption that the inflation of house prices during the bubble is a sacrosanct 'achievement' that shouldn't be upset by 'not-so-innocent-houses' suddenly trading at their actual market value


Great example of the "victim mentality".
