I think one way of looking at it is the tendancy to blame America first. No matter what the issue - the blame is always to the US. Now - if that is not anti American I do not know what is.

Then I guess those on this thread can feel complimented as you apparently have been reading this thread or you wouldn't have posted here. You ignored the rest of that sentence: "other than brief samplings to get the flavor." <gggg> I'll allow that some liberals are certainly like that. But some on the left are anti-American, theres just no way around it. I've seen some who try to distinguish between liberals and leftists for this reason. I've not argued that there are no anti-American statements from leftists. I've only argued that the phenomenon has been exaggerated by people who don't make that distinction, who seem to need to make the problem worse than it is. I wonder if you'd agree that the expressions below are also anti-American? Yes, I would. When Americans say that their country sucks, lock, stock, and barrel, and say it with hostility rather than sadness, to boot, that's anti-American. Saying that the President sucks, even with hostility, isn't. (See, I just let all the Clinton-haters off the hook along with the Bush haters. <gg>_
