I agree with your post about the war against the deceiving spirits during the last days. I used to believe as you do about the role of Israel in the last days. But the Lord sent people across my path that repeatedly challenged those ideas and I always go to the word and check, check, and recheck everything. Right now I think Israel is part of the last days deception, a complete turn around in my beliefs about Israel. When Jesus rose and people started to be born again they became the new Jews, Israel. The Jews after the flesh are cut off, old Israel. God put an end to old Israel with the Romans and new Israel grew, born again believers. When Israel is mentioned in scripture in the last days does God mean Israel after the flesh or Israel after the spirit? Because Christians have failed to see that they are Jews now have they failed to rightly divide the word of God? Have they fallen for a major misconception? Old Israel today wants to rebuild the Temple and start sacrificing again which will be an abomination to God. Would God create Israel again to do that? I don't think so. The anti-christ when he fakes the second coming and pretends to be Jesus will land in Jerusalem and deceive many and he will sit in the Temple on the mercy seat (Jesus's seat) in the Holy of Holies. Is that the abomination of desolation? As I've learned more and escaped the traditional views I see Israel today as a deception of the last days. A stage for the anti-christ. The anti-christ needs a stage to make his entrance on and take his seat as ruler. The true Israel of God now are the born again believers. The promises are ours. Don't follow men and their teachings. Read Ezekiel chapter 13. That's what these false prophets have done, white washed the truth of the last days. Saying peace and safety (pre-trib rapture) and hidden the truth. They don't know the truth.
