Guilt has nothing to do with it. Both the Brits' and American government willingly made the choice of having Jews slaughtered at the hands of Hitler rather than use their resources diverted from the war to give them refuge. Besides, the Jews made a good propaganda tool during the war by making the Germans the most evil enemy of all time.

Habit has nothing to do with it either. Nor is the US support necessarily in the interest of Israelis. You just need to read the write ups of Perle and Faith in "Clean Break" to see only one such case.

In my opinion the whole thing boils down to money laundering for special interests in both countries. Israeli lobby buys out politicians, who bankroll Israel, who buys weapons from the military-industrial-complex, who helps the Israeli lobby buy out politicians, who...I think you get the picture.

Some nutcase wrote in an editorial in our local paper, that Israel was God's Chosen people, we were lucky to have them as friends, and it's no coincidence America has been blessed because of it!
