re: Period. Blaming Nader or Bloomberg is just a way of papering over the fact they can't seem to campaign their way out of a wet paper sack.

True, but if you split the dems then you could have a problem getting either a dem or an independent elected.

The scenario I see is that if Bloomberg gets in the race and towards the end if it appears he can't he win he would probably withdraw and throw his support to the dem.

But who knows?

"Mr. Mayor, the Nader of ’08?"

Bad sign. The Democrats are already looking for excuses for losing in '08...

If they lose, it is because they won't be able to come up with a candidate who can win.

Period. Blaming Nader or Bloomberg is just a way of papering over the fact they can't seem to campaign their way out of a wet paper sack.

I think there is some credibility to the notion that a third party candidate can pull votes from one or both of the main candidates. In the case of Bloomberg, he may have called himself a GOPer but in reality his political stances are more typical of a Democrat.
