Yes, invading Lebanon when Lebanon invaded Israel was quite sensible to recover the kidnapped people. If it was one of my children who had been kidnapped and I had nukes, I'd be inclined to say to Islam - "Release them by this evening, or Mecca will cease to exist - and the day after that something else will cease to exist, until they are recovered. If they are never recovered, there will be nothing left of anything related to supporting those who did the kidnapping".

A bit like the USA nuked Japan. It certainly stopped Japan in a hurry.

Eye for eye and all that. Utu. That's the only way to handle totalitarian megalomaniacs. They aren't reasonable and co-operative.
