They should try 400 million years to get a more reasonable range. 100s of years is like morning and afternoon. 600,000 years isn't long either. <Historically, the atmosphere has been between 190 and 290 (I forget offhand his timeline for what he means by "historically," but it was at least 000s of years, and perhaps as high 650,000 years). >

1500 ppm was normal in the good old days before the air was stripped of carbon which was buried in graves of limestone, coal, oil, bitumens, shall, etc.

The thin atmosphere led Earth into the ice age from which we are enjoying a brief respite.
