A big part of why the Republican platforms are all over the place is that the Candidates themselves are all over the place "for a change". Rudi is for abortion and gay rights. WHEN is the last time the Republicans had a LEADING candidate that held those positions? In this election I'm looking for a President that can be middle of the road on most social issues, to the right on fiscal responsibility and pragmatic and VERY thoughtful on foreign policy. I think Thompson, Clinton, Bloomberg, Gore, Giuliani and McCain could all fit those parameters.
