No doubt the government will eventually trot out ID cards as some kind of panacea, but if we fall for it, we will deserve what we get.

Without some way to tell a legal from an illegal, we'll never solve the problem. A national ID is the only way to do it. If we can have secure credit cards, we can have secure ID's.

It's hardly impossible, as you seem to think. Punishing employers is the only way to make it happen.

But then, you probably ARE an employer of illegals, aren't you? Don't want the gravy train to end...
