I worked very closely with the initial Cu qualification out of Manassas before I left. Needless to say there were some serious process/production issues. Wire bonding and bond pad cap (plating vs Al cap) were unresolved. In the DRAM world I left, Cu had very very if any real advantages over Al. Speed was somewhat enhanced but a DRAM can only run so fast.

I still stand by my bean counter mentality comments, and yes Mark D. is a step in the right direction. If he (or someone of his caliber) were ever to become CEO, I would consider investing in Mu again. Not before. Boise remains in the heart of the good old boy network, global outsourcing notwithstanding.
