And our government is preoccupied with Iraq?

As Colin Powell said, you break it, you own it.

<< 3. The population of the entire world is increasing every year at a rate equal to the combined populations of Canada and the United States.>>

A little simple checking easily disproves the accuracy of that statement.

The current population of Canada as of July 2007 is estimated as being just slightly under 33 million. Of the United States, approximately 301 million. Your statement implies an annual global population increase of 334 million.

The CIA World Factbook as an annual publication of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States with almanac-style information about the countries of the world. According to the 2007 edition, global population is currently increasing at an approximate rate of 211,000 daily, or 77 million per year, less than 1/4 of the rate you suggested.

In 2000, the United Nations estimated that the world's population was then growing at the rate of 1.14% (or about 75 million people) per year[6]. According to data from the CIA's 2005-2006 World Factbooks, the world human population currently increases by 203,800 every day.[7] The 2007 CIA factbook increased this to 211,090 people every day.
