"No, I am not trying to minimize Clinton's failings....I would have tossed him at the time, but the republicans have to live with what they said THEN and what some will say NOW about the importance of rule of law, obstruction of justice, perjury, etc. "

OK well I am not a republican I am a registered independent and have never registered as a republican so I will let them speak for themselves. The rule of law has been applied and the court system has held it's integrity in this case.

So far the self identified republicans who post here have said it was right for Libby to be convicted and sentenced. These same individuals said the same thing about clinton THEN. I don't think any of them cared how much clinton was actually punished beyond his shame and humiliations, which were self imposed, nor do I think they care what happens to Libby going forward. Both men will acquire great wealth for the publicity of the events. Libby being the one who was least positioned for it a priori.

Would you apply your same logic to the dems who post here THEN and NOW?

Clinton submitted into evidence in a court proceeding an affidavit he solicited from Ms. Lewinsky which he knew to be false and misleading......as the Executive charged with upholding and defending the Constitution and laws of the United States...there is NO greater crime he could have committed....he tried to place himself above the law to cover his own sorry lying ass.

The man is an absolute pig.
