I have an early T43 ThinkPad, made right after Lenovo took over.

The T43 was originally an IBM designed product, when Lenovo took over they basically just switched name plates. The newer models (T60s and T61s) don't seem to be holding up as well. When Thinkpads were IBM they were the most reliable (overall, they did have one model that was a lemon..) laptop on the market for several years running.
