"You, for example, didn't have the skill to build a stone wall"

Actually, I do. One of the jobs I had as a youth was as an gopher for a stone mason. We built walls, rocked houses and built fireplaces. I got real buff lugging the stones and mixing the mortar for this 70 year old guy with one lung. Especially climbing the scaffold with rocks as we took stone chimeys up above rooftops.

I also learned the trade.

"So what do we do with the illegals? How do you handle the logistics?"

Put 'em out on the street with no chance of getting a job unless they go home. Double and triple pay for the work they did. Set up a LEGAL system to fill the gaps.

Are you saying these foreign professionals filling high-tech jobs have entered the U.S. illegally? How could stemming the flood of illegals across the border effect the highly paid job market? The vast majority of illegal border crossers are low-skilled, illiterate, Spanish-only speakers.
