OUCH....ps an observation....in europe doctors offices do not need clericle staff.....i have seen doctor offices in america where secretaries filling in insurance forms out number the nurses and doctors......multiple forms for multiple insurance companies....lots of paper work that often results in a check made out for pennies.....those were on the doctors" bulliten board of shame".......
ps national health in italy is financied like SS in the US....a percentage of income,,,,on can also purchase luxury coverage privately(delux private clinics)
Each village here as a walk in ambulatory open every other day.......each town has a collection center for blood tests and a volentary ambulance service(the misericordia)that dates from the middle ages........the hospitals are drab.

pss at 1 am one nite my daughter ,then age 4, had a high fever that was not going down ...i called the medicle hot line just to find out when i could give her more paracetemol......within 30 minutes a doctor and driver were at my house to give my girl a full check up.....1AM.....rural mountain area.....no charge.
