Dress codes are not that unusual...they are often part of a cultural identity. For what ever reason you would have them desist, they would find it an outragious intrusion of an outsider into their personal affairs.....it would ...it will become a point of patriotic honor to resist any such intrusion. Such change needs to come from within...foreign clamour will only consolidate resistance to that change.jmho Arab is a culture that until recently has been tribal based......the social mores and cohesion might be difficult to understand for someone who has grown up in an urban or suburban society.

Do you think it's OK for a religion to teach its female member that proper religious behaviour includes wearing a cloth that covers most her face, while for the male members of the religion there is no such facial wear restriction? It makes as much sense as forcing women to cover their breasts in public while allowing men to have exposed breasts. We even makes laws about. One thought the end of the world was coming when we got a little peak of Janet's breast during the Superbowl. And that was just one breast! FCC throwing fines right and left. Conservative parents having to explain to their children that women had breasts. jttmab
