"If you are suggesting to me that Radical Islam can't be reformed then I disagree completely and ask you to show me a religion that's never been reformed and I'll show you one that's dieing or dead.

What I'm suggesting is that Radical Islam is a corruption of the Islamic Religion and does not deserve the respect of being referred to as the Islamic Religion. When we give it that validation we are part of the corruption.

Any/All Abrahamic religions recognize an Omniscient God. A God who created us with a nature that is bound in righteousness to do well regarding other human beings, other creatures, and our-selves. Scripture guides us to regard the well being of others as we regard the well being of our own persons. A God who is perfectly Merciful and Beneficent does not create messages directing us to brutalize and terrorize one another into submission, that would be an obvious contradiction at the foundation of faith and practice. Islam is not a message/cookbook on terrorism.

The religion of Islam is not to blame, the corruption of men using the religion is. I am not a religious scholar and don't believe I need to be one to point out that basic flaw. Religions don't terrorize people, people using religions in a corrupt way do.

Regarding reform: You cannot 'reform' God's message to people unless you are more powerful than the All Powerful. Suggesting that Muslims would be willing to do that is a fundamental flaw in reasoning, and so is a non-starter. Suggesting that they look at the culture of brutality and terrorism and how that betrays their faith in a God who has directed them to be merciful vicegerents of his beneficent and peaceful message for people of earth is a fine place to start. Cultures can be reformed, God or God's message cannot.
