I think we'll finally figure out how to improve the quality of life issue but a lot of it is going to require that tobacco, alcohol and drugs be avoided like the plague. I'm sure it was a horrible loss for your mother when your father passed away. This is really selfish but I've always wanted to be the one to go first. Even the second time around I wouldn't want to live through the death of the next Radiant Mrs. Gloop.

It is SO HOT up here! We never seem to get normal 90 degree weather. It always has to be 95 with 95% humidity. It just saps the life out of you when it gets that hot.

I ran across this on another thread from a guy who ran into this young lady while he was up feeding cattle. I thought you and perhaps some others would get a charge out of following her trek. She is riding the breadth of the US on the Continental Divide through 7 states and 3100 miles. She has crossed from New Mexico into Colorado now and is on schedule. Quite the undertaking for 1 gal and her animals on their own. She updates her blog as she can and I'm enjoying watching her progress.

This is actually the original post that got me following her.

At 90 years of age my mother hasn't been well since my dad died, 6 years ago.

That's a huge problem when a spouse dies after a long marriage. My mother-in-law died 2 years after her husband did.
