People who have no knowledge of history, nor desire to learn, don't have enough depth to even know much except the immediate. And even then, I wonder how much they know of even the immediate, except for knowing something about Idol, Brittany, Rosie, and any number of folks who don't count for anything except their own field of work.

It is indeed discouraging. And yet, those are the folks who, if they live, will be the first to complain about not being protected.
