"Time for moslems to step out and talk to the rest of the nation. ... Its like tennis and the ball is in Islams court. Does it make me happy to say this? No but i am expressing what alot of americans feel."

There are plenty of Muslims condemning other Muslims and Muslims making sacrifices to stand against heinous brutality. The only thing that doesn't exist in America is Muslims fighting to the death to try to force each other to one way of thinking (personally I vote it stays that way).

It's about time for American non-Muslims to grow up a little bit. You can certainly expect those who agree with you to stand up and speak up to declare a common enemy but its never going to be unanimous. You can't go any where in America and discuss world events, politics, and social responsibility and hear only one voice. Do you see that on the foriegn affairs other political threads of SI? No you see people who are completely illogical in there hatred of Bush or in their loyalty to him and our military operations in the world, with a smattering of reasonable and principled people adding their 2 cents worth.

You can't gather 100 people off the streets of America and expect them to have one voice that either condemns or supports any of the events of our nation ... yet day in and day out I here this expectation of Muslims. There are over a billion Muslims living in every diverse type of situation and circumstance, and with that comes every point of view imaginable ... rightfully so IMO. There is an abundance of condemnation coming from Muslim spokespersons and there are plenty who don't and wont condemn enemies of America. Islam isn't Catholicism although some think the Shariah serves that role. The fact is there isn't one Shariah that the billion+ follow, I personally think the Shariahs are a corruption to give self-important sheiks a podium; Islam is a personal religion with some general guidelines and principles to live by.
