I don't claim to be an expert on Rand, but I think she did go the libertarian route (although not the anarchist) even though she would have denied it.

Attempts to completely change a society and replace it with a new, Utopian one, have been terrible disasters.

Libertarian, doesn't imply support of a sudden change that totally remakes society in to some sort of utopian vision. Its more of an umbrella term for believe in small, preferably very small government. It certainly doesn't imply opposition to our constitutional order.

Also look at the fact that all the examples you list are not only violent attempts to totally overturn society, they where also largely statist movements.
