The UN inspectors rid Iraq of WMD - you can't ask for much more than that. This invasion had nothing to do with UN resulotions and everything to do with a deep desire to invade Iraq -- with any reason that the American people would swallow as a pretext. If polls showed that the American people feared that aliens had landed in Iraq, Cheney and Bush would have backed an invasion of Iraq to eliminate the threat from aliens from outer space -- and Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et all would have appeared on your TV and sworn that they had iron clad proof that aliens had been seen landing and walking around in Iraq -- Saddam himself would be shown to be an alien. Rice would say that we cannot wait till there are alien ships floating above all of our cities before taking action.

Bush today seemed confused about who made the decision to invade Iraq -- saying at one point that Saddam made the decision that the US would invade Iraq -- I did not know that Saddam directed US foreign policy. There is nobody to blame but Cheney/Bush for launching this war. Those who pushed this war now search tirelessly for somebody else to blame -- they do not accept responsibility for the worst foreign policy blunder in US history. It must have been that Tommy Franks, or Saddam or the UN -- its all their fault. But Cheney/Bush? Heck no -- they are just doing "a heck of a job".

OK lets get rid of the State Department too. And the NYTimes. And while we are at it lets ban the democrats too. And the majority of republican senators who are now being honest about this war. You and Nadine should run for president.
