That badger story was weird- and honestly, my first thought was, I felt really sorry FOR the badgers. Must be a bitch to be thought a man eating badger in Iraq. That Whole Foods story was one of those- truth is stranger than fiction, things. I would have put it down to a hoax if there weren't evidence. It's hard to imagine someone with that much on the line doing that- and not realizing what would happen if he got caught. I worry with stories like the veggie one that people just circulate and recirculate the rumors- you know like how people on SI are constantly reposting stuff that's been debunked already? But you won't get any disagreement from me that religious fundamentalists over in the ME are weird- it's just their weirdness generally seems to take the form of beating people, and stoning them, and shooting them, and important stuff like that.
