Found this windmill discussion kinda interesting. One of the most speculative investments I've ever made (in terms of size and the type of company) was done a few weeks ago, in XEL. This utility company has a big investment in windmills, and there have been a few stories lately in WSJ about the high demand and short supply of materials to build the mills worldwide. Also some TV coverage from time to time.

I kinda question the future of this form of alt energy, but thought it would be interesting to make a play in it for now.

I've position-traded GE for years, because I like its international involvement in health care, energy, and engines.....nice lazy play that doesn't require full-time attention and pays off on the annual occasions when the stock makes a big move.

Both XEL and GE pay dividends, so I figure I get paid to wait.
