<how do you reckon the UN inspectors did anything?> The only thing surprising about the UN weapons inspectors was that they did such a brilliant job that there was nothing left for the US to find to justify the invasion -- nothing -- or do have you news for us about the WMDs that were not destroyed? The weapons inspections were a remarkable and very thorough success. The inspectors asked for more time to deal with final accounting issues -- and Bush booted them aside to launch his invasion lest anybody might actually come to understand that the invasion was premised on the big lie - the big lie that Saddam posed a threat to the US.
