I don't hear many people on the left saying we are the bad guys. Stupid for going over in the first place, sure- but the bad guys? I don't read the left fringe, but then that isn't the left- so I don't think their opinion can justifiably be called "the left", any more than Falwell can be called "the right".

I think you really need to separate the fringe of the left from the left.
