I dont understand bart, this is the third post now on same point - a few decades ago did not most chinese walk around wearing the same exact jumpsuit worshipping mao? Could it not be said that for the most part there was NO middle class per your 1984 quote - that everyone was for the most part equal robots under mao? (again to make this point extra clear since it seems to be zooming over your head in the past 2 posts - I am talking about how chinese didn't have a hierarchal system a few decades ago - you had mao at the top and everyone else an equal slave - no real middle class - and I think they were pretty bad off under that system - but today in china you have much more hierarchal system with capitalism infecting them - and many seem to be better off - even the lows)

No graduated hieararchy - today china has capitalism with evil fiat - there is more hieararchy - greater spread of levels of wealth - I have often heard grace talk about people in the USA moving up through the ranks of poverty to higher levels of living - so you say this never existed at any time in history - yet I am quite sure all the youtube videos I watch of china few decades back they didn't have hierarchy and no middle class - what am I not getting or you aren't getting? I know typed messages make it hard to understand context - so let me go through it again - you post about EVIL hierarchacal system per 1984, I try to show non-hierarchacal china few decades ago was not as good for their citizens as the system they have today - now in your most recent reply you say no time in history has that been the case. So too make sure I understand - you are saying there has always been a middle class in china per your 1984 quote making reference to the middle class using the lows for selfishness? I don't agree bart - maybe how you define middle class and how I definie it is different.
