I think we will know better on the surge in September. Too early at this point to make a call although the trend seems positive.

I do think Vitter should resign since he admitted his "serious sin", just as I felt BJ Billy should have resigned. We should not be willing to accept less than honorable men in DC. That is the problem with Congress..i.e.,too many members with no scruples.

As for Jefferson, he is entitled to the presumtpion of innocence...although it certainly does look bad for him. The Gov. still needs to make its case.

J.

Do you have a link to those reports? I have been reading everything I can find, and sure, while Baghdad settles a bit, the outskirts, Tikrit, etc...gets MORE violent.

Give me what you have in links to the "reports from the field" from the generals. Please don't give me what Fox News says they means, I'd like the actual reports if you have them.

TIA

We need this:

guardian.co.uk

Not the Fox spin..

Gee JDN, Jefferson has been indicted...can't we let the legal process work? Why did it take the Justice Department so long to bring the charges on such an iron-clad case? And what about the presumption of innocence.

And PLEASE don't try to blame lying family-value advocate Vitter on the Democrats. You can go on YouTube and see the commercials he ran for his senate campaign where his little girl talks about her great daddy and how they are this wonderful family! Gee, just like putting poor Wendy Vitter in front of the cameras, this slimeball KNEW he was having his ten year old daughter sell the lie!

But if its a Republican, it's o.k. with you?

Come on, JDN, the bus left the station a long time ago on Iraq. ...Warner gets it. Luger gets it. Voinovich gets it. Snowe gets it. Hagel gets it. Smith gets it. If ten more republican senators finally admit the problems, will YOU finally admit it?

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt, I guess.
