didn't want to try it and find that I loved it, which, according to reviews, I probably would.

It's very, very good. A soft, flaky texture and an almost buttery consistency in the mouth. I really don't know what to compare it to.

You would definitely like if you had it.

Our local greenie eco-friendly hippy-dippy Whole Foods sells filets for about $24 a lb.

I've eaten it dozens of times and it is quite delicious, as Carranza says. One of my Chinese teacher's favorite restaurants glazes and then bakes it - an unusual thing for a Chinese restaurant to do. It melts in your mouth. It is one of things we always order. There are also three places that we always go to eat every time I visit. Other than the sea bass, the menu varies. The way I figure it, as she's almost 94, whatever she wants, she gets. Age should have some privileges, after all.

Occasionally, she wants to try Chez Panisse "one more time," but inevitably concludes afterwards that we can get better for less at East Ocean or Great China. She's right. (Don't get me wrong - Chez Panisse is a wonderful place, too.)
